“El Muletas” in charge of 400 hitmen

“El Muletas” had under his control about 400 hitmen throughout different cells that operated in the city


Baja California’s Attorney General, Rommel Moreno Manjarrez assured that Raydel Lopez Uriarte, AKA “El Muletas” had under his control about 400 hitmen throughout different cells that operated in the city.

In an improvised conference, the government official stated that since his detention in La Paz, information exchanges between Attorney General’s Offices in order to begin 40 investigations against “El Muletas”, which include about 350 killings ordered by him.

Upon being asked if the Attorney General’s Office could confirm if “El Muletas” directed 200 hitmen, he replied: “No, it is not 200, it’s 400”.

The Attorney General reported that as part of the killings the group he managed is charged with, is the case of a dismembered clerk, the mutilation and hanging of a State employee, police officer killings, and the multiple executions of drug dealers in different areas of town since 2007 as part of the internal fight strategy of the criminal organization.

Raydel Lopez Uriarte was detained in La Paz last Monday and he is considered the operational arm and executor of an antagonistic group of the Arellano Felix Cartel in dispute of control with Fernando Sanchez Arellano, AKA “El Ingeniero”, since the beginning of 2007.
