Juarez City Masacre, a tragedy for Mexico: SEGOB


The Secretary of the Interior, Fernando Gomez Mont, stated that an investigation has been initiated to find those responsible for the death of a number of teenagers in Juarez City. Situation, he labeled as regrettable and as a tragedy for the country.

He confirmed during an interview that the strategy against crime in Juarez City, Chihuahua would be deepening, as a way to strengthen the three levels of government and fight the new illegal dynamics.

High level security public officials were summoned to testify before Senate commissions after the two executions last Sunday in Juarez City and Torreon, having left at least 26 dead, vast majority teenagers.

President Felipe Calderon opened his speech, during his trip in Japan at a meeting with journalists, by condemning what he referred to as a “cowardly murder” of a group of teenagers, many of the under age.

The criminal wave has peeked in the country, ending January with 933 executed, according to EL UNIVERSAL, making this month the most violent of the last decade.
