600 Aztecas members of the Juarez Cartel

According to information provided by the FBI

The gang of “Los Aztecas” or “Barrio Azteca”, whose members apparently participated in the killing of teenagers in Juarez City, Chihuahua, provides up to 600 of its members to the Carrillo Fuentes (or Juarez) Cartel, so that they act as its hitmen, reveals a Federal Bureau of Investigations’s (FBI) report.

In fact, included among its members, Eduardo Ravelo or Eduardo Simental Ruiz, aka "El Tablas" or "El Blas", one of the FBI’s top 10 most wanted fugitives, accused of fraud, organized crime, money laundering, and heroine and cocaine possession.

“It is known that Ravelo is a member of the criminal enterprise “Barrio Azteca” and is allegedly responsible for issuing the order to members of said gang residing in Juarez. Although he has not been charged with murder, Ravelo and his gang members are allegedly hitmen for a drug cartel in Mexico.

“He and his partners function as killers-for-hire for the Vicente Carrillo Fuentes organization and are responsible of multiple killings” details the criminal record on “El Tablas”, for whom the FBI offers an reward of up to 100 thousand dollars to whoever provides true information to contribute to his capture.

An Attorney General’s (PGR) investigation lead shows that at least two members of this violent gang were part of the armed commando that irrupted last Sunday in three different homes at Villas de Salvacar, and opened fire against a group of students.

“The Aztecs”, according to what’s been documented by the PGR, serve as the hitmen for “La Linea” Organization, armed branch of the Juarez Cartel, within the ongoing dispute against the Sinaloa Cartel, belonging to Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, for the distribution of drugs in Chihuahua and the northeast border area.

Said gang, considered by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), as one of the 20 most dangerous in that country, and dedicated to also committing assaults, extortions, and drug trafficking in Juarez as well as in El Paso, Texas.

“They are well organized and are dangerous” indicated FBI’s Special Agent Samantha Mikeska last October, as she presented the leader of “Los Aztecas” in the top 10 FBI most wanted individuals, which includes Osama Bin Laden.

The massacre of 15 teens in Juarez City was ordered by a “La Linea” hitmen identified as Adrian Ramirez, AKA "El Rama" or "El 12", whom allegedly was looking for a teen involved with the “Killer Artists”, associated with “El Chapo”.
