“La Linea” pays hitmen up to 8 thousand pesos

A weekly salary of two thousand pesos, a cell phone, and even a stolen vehicle offered by the Juarez Cartel

A weekly salary of two thousand pesos, a cell phone, and even a stolen vehicle are used as hooks by the Juarez Cartel to recruit potential members to its group of hitmen known as La Linea.

According to a military report, it is such the equipment that some of those involved in the massacre in Juarez City, Chihuahua, received for enrolling as hawks.

It’s about vigilantes in charge of reporting, by using communication radios and cell telephones, all the movement of police, army personnel, and rival groups, particularly those involved with the Sinaloa Cartel, headed by Joaquin El Chapo Guzman.

One of those captured by the Army this past Monday, and that was allegedly involved in the multi-homicides at Villas de Salvarcar, testified that the MO in which hawks and hitmen are recruited.

This man, identified as José Dolores Arroyo Chavarria, stated that La Linea’s cell bosses guarantee a salary.

In his particular case, he was offered -as it has happened with other members of the criminal group- two thousand pesos per week; in order to carry out his objectives, a phone and a gray 2002 Grand Am vehicle was given to him.

The vehicle is reported as stolen in the United States and from its inside, Arroyo Chavarria and his boss known as El Rama – whom allegedly ordered the massacre and was killed during the shooting in which Jose Dolores was detained – shot against members of the Army as they tried to be stopped and searched at a military checkpoint.

On the other hand, authorities commented that they have information as to the fact that La Linea members first offer a salary and then they lower it. “There are cases in which hitmen kill for 500 or one thousand pesos, in addition to preferring stolen vehicles to avoid being track down”, stated.

The Federal Public Safety Secretariat informed that in Juarez City, La Line recruits youth by providing them with guns to steal vehicles later used in executions and other crimes.

To this issue, members of the Federal Police captured four minors at the Real del Campo hotel, in Juarez City, Chihuahua; they testified to having received payment for each vehicle by an small drug dealer known as El Cris – a known associate of the Juarez Cartel.
