"Regrettable, the statements by Duarte"

Arturo García Portillo deemed as regrettable the statements given by Cesar Duarte

Arturo García Portillo, general pre-campaign coordinator for Carlos Borruel, deemed as regrettable the statements given by Cesar Duarte, pre-candidate for the PRI, in which he believes the peace and development that characterized the State of Chihuahua was attributed to the drug trafficking.

Duarte, during a campaign visit to Ocampo municipality, stated “we used to coexist with an illegal activity that supported the economy and provided strength to the regions”, according to information published today on different local media, included El Diario de Chihuahua, page 5A

García Portillo stated that said statements talk about a “negotiated peace” that generated serious harm to the social structure, increased drug trafficking and consumption and opened the doors to the control of communities and places now disputed within criminal groups .

“It is clear that such coexistence referred to by the PRI pre-candidate, is the origin of the disease and violence that nowadays injures and morns the families in Chihuahua, and that it grew at plain view and willingness of authorities emanated from his same political party”, stated Arturo Garcia.
Also stated that these are the same conditions that have made very difficult for the Federal Government frontal fight to eradicate organized crime from the communities where it has settled operations.

“Statements by Duarte constitute a dangerous alert that-unable to head a similar fight-he might favor to seek a negotiated peace resulting in a prolonged and strengthened presence of these criminal groups that destroy the future of our state and our families”, emphasized.
